I for one am not a big soccer (football) fan, but I do like the video games. I downloaded and have played FIFA 10 by EA Sports a few times this morning and I must say, I really really like it. You are promted to pick your gaming level, beginner is what I picked cause I’m not a frequent gamer of soccer. After doing that just like on NBA Live how you start off in the hangar, in FIFA you start off on the practice field just you and the goalie. Here you can get used to the controls and take some shots on the goal and even work on your dribbling.
When you get ready to start your game, you are brought from the practice field into the game field, very nice transistion just like Live. You can again practice before you start if you like. I started of using the Chicago Fire. The game moves very smooth and the graphics are pretty decent. The commentary seems to be spot on. I went for a shot on goal and it hit the pole and pretty much when it happend, the commentators said it instead of a little delay. Speaking on commentary, it’s very refreshing to hear them talking back and forth and also talking about the game.
The gameplay is great. I love the new 360 degree dribbling all controlled by the left stick. You can dribble in one direction and quickly go the opposite way. Kicking is pretty easy. On the beginner side, you use the O button and the longer you hold it down, the farther and harder the kick becomes. I figured it out in the middle of the game haha. I ended up losing the game 2-0, but it was a great experience and I had a lot of fun.
I have been browsing around the site over at EA Sports which can be found here, the videos they have up and all the features that are listed have made me want to get this game even more. I’m real eager to try the Pro Club Championship where we can create an online club with friends & play 10v10 against hundreds of thousands of Virtual Pros from around the World, with the top clubs battling it out to become Regional & World Champions.
The game comes out in 32 days and I can’t wait to pick it up.

With NBA LIVE 10 Demo already out and NBA 2K10 only releasing the Draft Combine, many around the net on different blogs and websites that I have been to are asking one question. When is the demo for 2K10 coming?
Well the answer that I found on a site that I have been bringing you guys posts from, PastaPadre states that the Draft Combine is sorta a ‘qausi-demo’ for 2K10. He states that the Draft Combine has pushed the demo.
The Draft Combine having presented somewhat of a quasi-demo experience would appear to have an effect on when the actual demo for NBA 2K10 will be released. 2K has thus far been vague about when the demo will be appear only stating that it will not be out “for a while”. Hopefully they do in fact follow through and release a true demo. They gave the impression that one was coming for NHL 2K10 up until the day it was announced that they would not be putting one out.
Because the appeal and value of Draft Combine practically disappears once 2K10 is released, they obviously want to squeeze all they can out of it. That is a revenue stream which can help offset what may be stale sales to come due to the current economic conditions…something that has been seen with many other recent titles. Downloadable content has proven to be a resource that these companies are now relying on.
NBA Live 10 already has the demo available, has shown off numerous gameplay videos, and has released videos displaying various improvements along with detailed blogs. Meanwhile 2K has yet to show a lick of gameplay footage.
Is that something to be concerned about? Probably not in the case of NBA 2K10. There are a few sports games that could get by not showing much pre-release. Series such as EA’s FIFA and NHL along with NBA 2K have built up enough trust over the past few years that consumer confidence is high and much of the sales will be made based on the name and expectations.
Despite that they do need to release a demo to counteract the one that is out for Live. The Draft Combine was not sufficient for judging what 2K10 will offer. Given the circumstances it would seem the most likely time for a 2K10 demo to arrive would be October 1st, the Thursday prior to the game’s release. – pastapadre

The demo for FIFA 10 released for the 360 Thursday morning and hit the PSN Store lastnight. Demo includes six teams and consists of exhibition matches with three minute halves with adjustable game speed and camera options. I started to download it lastnight but didn’t wait for it to get finished. This is what has been stated at the beginning of the game, per Pasta Padre.
At start-up of the demo you are presented with three different experience levels to choose from as well as two different controller configurations or the opportunity to customize your own. FIFA 10 will be out on Tuesday October 20th.
I am hoping to bring an impressions on it sometime today. If not then, maybe the start of the week. As always if you have done so please leave comments.
